Meet Miles Morales, the not-so-average kid who was bitten by a radioactive spider from Earth 42. At least, that’s how the story goes. After the tragic death of “the very own friendly neighbour” Spiderman Peter Parker, Miles Morales had his moment with his newfound Spidey powers with some great help from Spiderman from a different universe.
Miles Morales was struggling to fit in with his peers, but fighting crime and juggling university may be too much even for Spiderman. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse presented some great Wow moments, perfectly capturing viewers’ attention from the get-go.
The new twists awaiting Miles Morale, Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker in the latest sequel were well crafted. Which moment in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse had you wondering “Indeed, a scene-stealer moment”?!
6. Gwen’s Identity disclosed
Gwen had a hard time coping when his best friend Peter Parker died, in Earth-65 in which Gwen had an indirect hand. Feeling guilt, remorse and sadness, Gwen didn’t have the opportunity to cope with the loss.
On top of that, if things weren’t bad enough, Gwen’s dad, Captain George Stacy was constantly harping about how the Spiderman (aka Spiderwoman from her earth) which was Gwen became a fugitive overnight.
Gwen’s father caught Spiderwoman at the murder scene of Peter Parker. Her father was constantly chasing the murder suspect when Gwen couldn’t even explain the situation. When her Earth was visited by a multidimensional villain, Vulture from the Italian Renaissance due to anomalies thanks to Miles Morales's situation, things became complicated quickly.
After the Spidermen Jess Drew and Miguel O’Hara from alternate universes paid a visit, Gwen was caught in a situation where she had to disclose her identity to her father, chasing the vigilante. That was a scene-stealer/ heartbreaking moment. No one could see this coming not by a long shot.
5. Prowler from Live Action MCU Universe
When Miles Morales Joined Gwen in the HQ in the multidimensional place where apparently, Miles wasn’t invited, we get a brief second glimpse of the live-action MCU universe Prowler from Spiderman Homecoming.
The actor who played Prowler- Donald Glover made a brief cameo which was quite a scene stealer and an unexpected moment in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse.
Miles was never invited to the HQ because of the cannon event which was bound to happen when his father would be promoted to Captain and unfortunately would pass away. This cannon event happens to every Spiderman and is inevitable for Miles to escape his fate.
4. Spot giving a beatdown to the Spidey gang
Let’s admit that the beatdown, no-named, villain of the weak became one hell of a threat to the multiverse and poor Miles who failed to understand the grave consequences.
Well, let’s just not blame him, and for a second, even Gwen and the so-called HQ at Nueva York at Earth - 928 Spiderman team were more at fault. When Gwen secretly left Miles and when to stop Spot, Miles followed her (ok, nothing like a stalker!).
When they reached to stop at the Indian Alchemax with Gwen, Indian Spiderman -Pavitra Prabhakar, and the punk rock bandmate Spiderman- Hobie Brown (Gwen’s rock band teammate), Spot was near victory when he did what he wanted to do- bring chaos for the multiverse.
The Spot was a few steps ahead and defeated the gang, causing this world to collapse. Of course, Miles Morales, here to save the day, destroyed a cannon event for Indian Spiderman by saving Inspector Singh.
3. The Gwen-Miles Moment
Miles was feeling relatively low after destroying his father’s party and receiving punishment by getting grounded for 2 months. To boot this up, Gwen made a quick stop at Miles’ Earth (1610) to check up on him and catch the up-and-coming villain Spot.
Unfortunately, things went out of hand when Gwen lost The Spot, and failed to stop him from his evil plans. Miles Morales can turn invisible (newsflash!) and has a moment when he caught Gwen talking to another Spidewoman - Jess. Well, too bad, things were just bad.
As Gwen went to Mumbaitann, Miles followed him through the portal. The iconic inverted Spiderman scene watching the love of his life was well-planned.
2. Miles Morales vs Spiderman Team
Miles Morales did mess up the cannon event for Pavitra Prabhakar on Earth 50101, Miguel O’Hara was not pleased with Gwen, Hobie and Miles. Miles was determined to change his fate and protect his father from death after he was fated to become the Captain.
Miguel locked Miles but Miles wasn’t going to stop. Miles not only overpowered Miguel but defeated the entire Spiderman team, impressing Peter Parker and the viewers! That moment when Miles flicked his electricity to knock Miguel was quite satisfying. Miles was successful to get his ticket back home.
1.The Ending cliffhanger – Earth 42
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse did everything right, but the best thing was probably the “Cliffhanger at Earth 42”. As Miles was bitten was the spider from Earth 42, this Earth has no Spiderman left. Mles’s dad Captain Morales was dead. Worse of all, the Prowler caught Miles Morales.
The epic realisation for Gwen, Miles and others, is that Miles didn’t go back home but ended up on a different Earth was a twist big enough to give you massive goosebumps.
The identity reveals of Prowler in Earth 42 was a huge shocker. No, it wasn’t Aaron Davis, Miles Morales’s Uncle, but Miles Morales himself.
The face reveal moment was a big jaw-dropper and fans can’t help but be excited for the next sequel.
